Bond

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 21, 2008:

It actually took me quite a long time to find an answer to this question. I started to think what everyone would/should do to celebrate peace but I think the easiest answer is my own.

I would celebrate piece by 1) showing the people I love how much I value their presence in my life and 2) have a conversation with someone I've never meet before, either on the street or in a restaurant. How often do people stop and talk with someone they've never met? If peace had reigned over the earth, everyone would be open with one another. Such an opportunity helps people bond with one another and learn something new from everyone they meet.

Peeing and Pooping

I love to pee and poop xD It's very relaxing because you empty your tank which means you have less crap (literally) to carry. Many people think of poop and urine as gross. Well, your own body makes it so why don't embrace it? If you couldn't pee and poop, you wouldn't be able to flush out all the crap (is this a bit cliche now?) in your system such as viruses and bacteria. Sure the smell is rather repulsive but maybe that's our digestive system showing how us how much it loves us. I think to think of peeing and pooping as making space for more brilliant ideas =o)

Reflect upon the past and look towards the future. I look at both equally; a balance.

Cherish and Contribute

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 06, 2008:

I believe the best way to love Earth is by cherishing it and contributing to it. Earth nourishes all life and provides what all organisms need to survive. Humans have taken what Earth has to offer for granted and abused it. Humans do too much taking. Yes its true that many things, many good things would not be here today if it weren't for humans but at the same time, many of those things have proven harmful to the Earth. Sure industires are beneficial to people but the pollution they give off damages life on Earth.

I forget who said it but someone said that if all mosquitoes were eliminated from Earht, all life would end. If all humans were eliminated from Earth, all life would flourish. That kind of highlights how much harm humans have caused. Our power to do good is equal to our power to destroy.

Obviously with the way society is set up we can't take one huge leap forward to treat the Earth better. But we can take gradual steps and commit to them. Renewable energy sources is a great idea, people just have to be willing to try them.

The Earth has given us life and it is mutually beneficial for everyone to do their best to give back to Earth. Reduce, reuse, recycle, grow trees and plants, pick up litter, and avoid using things that pollute the air and water. Those are things we can do to show the Earth that we love it.

My Horizon

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 04, 2008:

Glancing out the window, I see tree, buildings, streets, and the lake. My ideal horizon would be composed of a lake surrounded by trees that are in contrast to the bright orange, yellow, and red sky as the sun sets. As for an internal horizon, I don't think anyone has a limited one. There isn't a limit as long as people always continue to reach farther and discover more about themselves.
